Anne Fabini

Anne Fabini has worked as an editor on many notable feature films and documentaries since 1999. She recently edited MORRIS FROM AMERICA, winner of two awards at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The feature film HOUSTON (2013) by Bastian Günther and RETURN TO HOMS, a documentary by Talal Derki also premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, with RETURN TO HOMS winning the World Documentary Grand Jury Award in 2014. MORE THAN HONEY, an international co-production directed by Markus Imhoof, won the national awards for Best Documentary in Germany, Switzerland and Austria respectively. Other documentary works include BEYOND PUNISHMENT (director Hubertus Siegert) and CARTE BLANCHE (director Heidi Specogna). CALIFORNIA CITY (Visions du Réel 2014) is a hybrid film that fluidly crosses borders between fiction, documentary and essay.

 

She is winner of the prestigious German Film Critics Award for Best Editing. Her work has been nominated several times for Best Film Editing at the German Film Awards (2009- BERLIN CALLING, 2013- MORE THAN HONEY, 2014- HOUSTON). She is a representative on the executive board of the German Film Academy.

 

Passionate about passing on her knowledge she hosts a series of lectures and talks on film editing at the Berlin film school. As an editing tutor at the Dok.incubator workshop she has consulted on WORKER’S CUP, THE GOOD POSTMAN and AMAZONA.

 

After living her childhood in Romania and spending five years of her adult life in Spain, she is now based in Berlin again.
